PALMDALE – How-to information, educational presentations, suggestions and supplies will be offered at an earthquake preparedness fair hosted by the city’s public safety office. The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Poncitlan Square, on 9th Street East, south of Palmdale Boulevard. “Most people don’t realize that if they’re properly prepared for an earthquake, they are prepared for most natural disasters,” said Anne Ambrose, public safety manager. “Being prepared is very important for Palmdale residents since the city sits on the San Andreas Fault line.” Organizations that will participate include the American Red Cross, Palmdale Water District, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Palmdale Sheriff Station’s Search and Rescue team, Community Emergency Response Team trainers and Los Angeles County Fire Department.
